The masked boy of China

The boy’s name is Wang Gengxiang, known as the “Masked Boy” among Chinese Netizens. He is currently living in Mijiazhuang village on the outskirts of Fenyang, northwest China’s Shanxi province. Wang was severely burned in an accident involving a pile of burning straw last winter, causing most of the skin on his head to be burned off. Since then, he is required to wear a full surgical mask to prevent the scars from becoming infected.

The Flowers of War

Based on the true story during 1937 Nanjing Massacre and the novel "13 women of Nanjing" from Yan Geling.

This is one of movies on the top my "waiting to see list". I don't know how the Spanish history book tells this part which happened in my country during the Second World War, and I know there are voices about Chinese government exaggerates the fact. But the truth is that this gory war did happen at this land, which means the wound of people can not admit of doubt. Anyway we can't go back to see by our own eyes, so let's those film-makers tell the story.

Old story in new dress

牡丹亭 之 游园
Peony Pavilion - A Walk In the Garden

The Peony Pavilion is a play written by Tang Xianzu in the Ming Dynasty and first performed in 1598.
Particularly prominent are these features in three of the earlier acts, "A walk in the Garden", "The Interruption Of a Dream" and "Reflection On the Lost Dream".
It's the love story between Du Liniang(杜丽娘) and Liu Mengmei (柳梦梅). As one of the most romantic story in China, now a day also be used like an artistic topic frequently, as these photos followed.

We Chinese are cruel?

This is a one of my favorite short cartoon in my childhood, which told a story about a wolf, a fox and a bear. The wolf prepared delicious chicken for the dinner and invited the bear to join in. But the fox got this news and stole chicken first, then put the blame on the bear...( And now please watch it and read my blog after it.)

So what's your opinion about it? Well, one feedback from my roommate was,"OMG, why you Chinese give this horrible cartoon to those kids!? It's so cruel!" ......Wait a minute! Cruel? Which part? Those frames of bleeding? They are just real, no? I've never minded it when I was a kid. For me this is just a story to bring me the fact and the reason which is be on guard when somebody try to set people at loggerheads.

But when this thought jumped out, I found out this idea, this way to teach kid to be realistic, this part is cruel.
We've been taught with this method a lot. Our parents are eagerly to push the kid to face the true world, they want the kid be ready for the cruel future as early as possible. Please don't take this wrong, I believe that our parents are just worrying, they know in a country like China is full of competitors for everything, and they wish their baby could handle these tough competitions or at least to learn this ability earlier.
